About

Hello!

I am a recent graduate from Nepal Engineering College (NEC). I now work on NLP and multimodal AI, and I am interested in making language technologies work for low-resource languages like Nepali.

My primary research interests are centered around:

  • NLP: How can we make NLP systems work for all of the world’s languages, including those with limited data? I am also interested in transfer learning, where models use knowledge gained from a source task for a target task.
  • Computer Vision: How can vision-language models (VLMs) detect image-text inconsistency and out-of-context images? I work with image processing and pattern recognition for this.
  • Multimodal AI: How can models jointly reason over text, vision, and speech?

Beyond these areas, I am also open to exploring Social Network Analysis and Multimodal Biomedical Informatics.

In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, listening to classical Nepali, Hindi, and Sufi songs, watching movies and TV shows, and mostly visiting temples.

"You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny."

"A mistake in Intellect today will bring more failures tomorrow; mistake in Morality today will bring more worries tomorrow and a mistake in Spirituality today will bring more fears tomorrow. This is the only Truth taught by my experience."

"Whatever your brilliance, your pessimism, your thoughts about existence, the answer is always... Life. It's not a dialectical idea, it's a lived contradiction. Gramsci said, 'We have to be pessimists in our thinking and optimists in our actions.'"
